Grants
Since 2000, under the Regional Selective Assistance grant scheme alone, the UK
Government offered £966m of support to businesses located in the UK.
Depending on the size of your business and the location of the proposed project,
this support can range from 10-50% of the project capital cost and is usually
offered in the form of grants.
Grants may be conditional on creating or safeguarding jobs in the project location
for an agreed period of time. Eligible project costs include expenditure on land,
plant and machinery and some intangible costs.
At Milwain Advisory we have had extensive experience of all types of capital
grants, in particular
- Regional Selective Assistance (Scotland only)
- Selective Finance for Investment
Equity
The £180m Enterprise Fund was established by the Government in December
1998 to ensure that entrepreneurs have access to debt and equity finance. At Milwain Advisory we can advise SMEs on how to access these funds which are distributed
via the Small Firms Loan Guarantee Scheme and Regional Venture Capital Funds
